Media training
TV, radio, print or online: getting your message across at the right moment, in the right words.
Our trainers are journalists with both newsroom and teaching experience. They prepare executives, spokespeople and experts for high-stakes interviews.
Why media training makes the difference
- Build a clear, memorable message
- Avoid the pitfalls: ambiguity, contradiction, vagueness
- Answer without being cornered: hold your line, stick to the facts, stay credible
- Match your tone to the medium: TV, radio, print, online
In an interview everything moves fast: the format is short, attention is fragmented, and the questions can be loaded, repetitive or unsettling. Media training turns that pressured environment into ground you control.
TV, radio, print and online media are powerful ways to deliver your message, provided you are prepared and understand what French and international journalists expect, and the constraints they work under.
Our team explains how each type of media works. Together we build your message and show you how to anticipate the questions, so that you feel at ease.
What you work on
Good media training works on several levels at once. The message: how to phrase your key idea, repeat it without tiring your audience, and back it up with evidence. How the media work: what a journalist is looking for, and what the format really allows. Difficult questions: answering the ones designed to catch you out, and cleanly sidestepping the ones that take you beyond your remit, without dodging or going on the attack. Body language: keeping voice and attitude consistent, handling stress, holding your presence on camera.
You also learn which questions not to answer, when to accept an interview, and the difference between live and pre-recorded interviews on radio and TV.
Media training does not teach you to recite answers. It teaches you to take control of the interview.
Filmed, reviewed, done again
Every session is led by journalists and filmed in studio conditions, so you can sharpen your key messages and your presence on camera. Your interviews are then reviewed and analysed with your trainer, and you receive a recording of your session.
Try, get feedback, adjust, try again, across different media outlets. Interviews analysed. Improved, visible progress by the end of the session.
Each session is prepared around your specific needs: your sector, your current news, the risks to your reputation, your sensitive messages and any legal constraints.
Your offices or a studio, one to one or in a group
Sessions are tailored to you and can take place in your offices or in a TV studio, one to one or with several participants, in English or French. In your offices, we work as close as possible to your day-to-day reality. In a studio, the pressure is close to the real thing: the camera, the pace and the constraints of television.
Up to six participants per trainer. One-to-one sessions are also available.
Speaking to France, speaking to the world
Our training is designed as much for executives who need to communicate internationally as for those addressing audiences in France. In practice, that means adjusting how much cultural context you can take for granted, explaining without watering down, and handling nuances that may be over-interpreted from one country, or one media outlet, to another.
